# End User Licence Agreement **Revision:** 2.1 **Published:** 16 October 2026 **Effective from:** 24 October 2026 **Permanent address:** https://astra.minice.ai/eula **Archive of previous revisions:** https://astra.minice.ai/legal/archive --- This agreement is between you and **Mykhailo Samiliak**, a sole proprietor registered in the **State of Washington, United States of America**, trading as **Minice**. Contact: **contact@minice.ai**. It covers **the Astra program itself** — what you may do with the software on your computer. The [Terms of Service](/offer) cover the website and the cloud service; the [Refund Policy](/refund) owns every rule about money. --- ## 1. What you are buying **A licence, not the software.** You buy the right to use Astra. You do not buy the program, and copyright in it does not move to you. The licence is: - **perpetual** — it does not expire, and nothing renews; - **non-exclusive** — other people have one too; - **personal** — it is yours, and it is recorded against your account; - **for one person at a time** — install it on the machines you use, but it is licensed for **one active device at a time**, not for a household or a team. **The licence check is tied to the installation.** Astra creates a key on your computer once and keeps its private half in your operating system's protected storage; it signs its licence requests with that key. Copying Astra's folder to another computer does not copy the licence — on the other computer you sign in to your account. Your account page lists the devices signed in to it, and you can sign any of them out. What we record for this is in the [Privacy Policy](/privacy), section 2.2. --- ## 2. What you may do **2.1** Install and run Astra on computers you control, within the one-active-device limit above. **2.2** Use it for anything lawful, including commercial work. We do not charge differently for that and we do not ask what you use it for. **2.3** Make a backup copy of the installer. --- ## 3. What you may not do **3.1** Share, sell, rent, lend or sublicense the licence or your account. **3.2** Remove or alter the copyright notices. **3.3** Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the program, **except** to the extent the law of your country expressly permits it whatever a contract says. Several countries do permit it for interoperability; this clause does not pretend otherwise. **3.4** Use the program to break the law, or to produce material that is illegal where you are. **3.5** Circumvent the licence check (including the installation key above), the credit allowance or the rate limits. **3.6 Plugins are allowed.** The restrictions on reverse engineering and derivative works do not apply to creating, using or distributing plugins: separate programs that interact with the Software only through the official API and SDK published by the Rightholder. Such a plugin is not a derivative work of the Software, provided it includes no code, assets or design elements of the Software beyond what the API/SDK documentation expressly permits. Listing a plugin in the Astra catalogue is governed by the catalogue's rules. --- ## 4. Updates **4.1** We may publish updates. Some fix faults, some add features, some are required for the program to keep working with services it depends on. **4.2 Updates are covered by your licence.** You do not pay again for a new version of Astra. **4.3** We may stop supporting old versions. The program you already installed keeps working for as long as it can; what we cannot promise is that a third-party service it talks to will keep answering an old client. --- ## 5. The cloud service is a separate thing **5.1** Astra works on your machine. Some features — the ones that need a large model or a synthetic voice — send requests to our cloud service. Beyond the free trial below, that needs an **active Plus or Pro subscription**. **5.2 The free AI trial.** On top of the licence and at no extra charge, an Astra owner gets a free trial allowance of 1,000 credits a month for our cloud AI. It renews every month on the day and hour of the licence purchase; unused credits do not carry over. How many credits a request uses depends on the model and the length of the conversation, and the app shows what is left. The trial is not part of what the licence price pays for; we may change its size or the models it covers, or end it, by publishing the change on this site. Running out of it is not a defect and is not a ground for a refund. Plus and Pro give a larger allowance. **5.3 Your Astra licence does not include the cloud allowance beyond the free trial above, and cancelling the cloud subscription does not affect your licence.** The program keeps working; the features that need more than the trial stop until you subscribe again. **5.4** The exact allowances — the trial's, Plus's and Pro's, per paid period, per week, per 5 hours, and for premium models — and how we may change them are published in section 2.2 of the [Terms of Service](/offer). --- ## 6. What we do not promise **6.1** Speech recognition, generated text and synthesised speech are **probabilistic**. They will sometimes be wrong. We describe what the program does; we do not promise what any single answer will be. **6.2** The program is provided as described on this site, with reasonable care and skill. **It is consumer software for personal and professional use and it is not sold as critical infrastructure.** Do not use it where a wrong or missing answer causes physical, financial or legal harm. **6.3 If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected by this section.** In the EU and EEA in particular, the law gives you rights about conformity that no licence agreement can remove; section 2.3 of the [Refund Policy](/refund) describes them. --- ## 7. Ending the licence **7.1** The licence ends if you break section 3 seriously or deliberately. For anything else we tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to stop. **7.2** It also ends if you are refunded for it — see the [Refund Policy](/refund). A refunded licence is an undone purchase, not a free copy. **7.3** When the licence ends, stop using the program and remove it from your machines. --- ## 8. Liability Our total liability to you under this agreement is limited to **what you paid for the licence**. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law where you live does not permit to be limited. --- ## 9. Law This agreement is governed by the law of the **State of Washington, United States of America**. **If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, that does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.** --- ## 10. Changes We publish a **revision number and an effective date** for every change, and every previous revision stays at https://astra.minice.ai/legal/archive. **A change never applies backwards.** The revision in force on the day you bought the licence governs that licence. A later revision applies to a later purchase, and to updates you choose to install after its effective date — it cannot retroactively narrow what you already bought. **Revision 2.1 (16 October 2026) adds section 5.2, describing the free AI trial, rewords section 5.1 so the two do not contradict, and adds section 5.4, pointing to the allowance table in section 2.2 of the Terms of Service; it is effective from 24 October 2026, same as before.** Revision 2.0 (published 10 October 2026) never took effect for any purchase and is in the archive alongside revision 1.0.
